中华文明的五个突出特性，涵养着中华民族延绵不断的文化根脉，是中华民族共同体形成的内在动力和文明底蕴，奠定了中华民族共同体建设的文明根基。“第二个结合”推动中华文明的现代更新，在中华文明现代转型中具有理论基础和方法论意义，促进中华文明从传统形态向现代转型，形成中华文明的现代形态，进而成为中华民族共同体建设的文明基础和现代力量。中华文明的连续性赋予中华民族共同体强大的凝聚力，奠定中华民族共同体建设的历史根基；创新性构成中华民族共同体建设的内在动力；统一性蕴含大一统历史传统和深厚的家国情怀，凝聚起中华民族共同体建设的强大合力；包容性形成海纳百川的文明格局，构成中华民族共同体建设的精神力量；和平性推进国内各民族和睦相处、共同发展，促进世界各民族和平共处、合作共赢，彰显中华民族共同体建设的价值指向。

Chinese civilization is distinguished from others by five prominent features:Continuity,innovation,unity,inclusiveness,and peace.These features nourish the continuous cultural roots of the Chinese nation,and lay the groundwork for the formation and development of the Chinese national community,and establishing a civilizational foundation for the construction of the Chinese national community.The continuity of Chinese civilization enables its orderly inheritance and development,furnishing a historical foundation for the construction of the Chinese national community.It is the inherent driving force for strong cohesion in the construction of the Chinese national community today.The innovative feature of Chinese civilization endows the Chinese nation with internal power and creativity for sustainable development,acting as an internal driving force for building the Chinese national community,and promoting the integration of the basic tenets of Marxism with the fine traditional Chinese culture.This promotes the modern transformation of Chinese civilization,and iniects contemporary vitality into it,facilitating the formation its modern form.Ultimately,It becomes a cultural foundation and modern strength for promoting the construction of the Chinese national community.The unity of Chinese civilization,a distinctive characteristic of the " Great Unification" philosophy that is reflected in the formation and development of the Chinese national community,fosters the pattern of diversity-in-unity of the Chinese nation.This feature is reflected in the pursuit of unity among all ethnic groups in political,economic,cultural,social,and territorial dimensions,nurturing the patriotic spirit of the Chinese nation centered on national unification and ethnic solidarity,thereby generating a powerful synergy for the construction of the Chinese national community.The inclusiveness of Chinese civilization enables the Chinese nation to continuously absorb the achievements of other civilizations,which nurtures the Chinese nation' s open and inclusive character to accept other world civilizations,and internalizes the strengths of foreign civilizations as the integral elements of Chinese civilization itself.This process promotes the enrichment and development of Chinese civilization and becomes a spiritual force to promote the construction of the Chinese national community.The peacefulness of Chinese civilization is reflected in two aspects:A harmonious coexistence of various ethnic groups in China and a peaceful coexistence of various nations and ethnicities worldwide.It embodies the concept of peaceful development guiding both the building the Chinese national community and a community with a shared future for humankind,manifesting the value orientation of Chinese national community construction.In conclusion,the prominent features of Chinese civilization are the cultural foundation for understanding modern China and the historical basis for correctly addressing ethnic issues through the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.From the perspective of historical development,the prominent features of Chinese civilization serve as ideological resources,cultural soil,and spiritual thread for the formation of the Chinese national community.As for practical experience,the Communist Party of China—based on the prominent features of Chinese civilization—takes safeguarding national unity and ethnic solidarity as the core themes of ethnic theories and policies,integrates ethnic,cultural,and national interests,and resolves the diverse tensions among various ethnic groups by leveraging the prominent features of Chinese civilization.Meanwhile,it inherits and develops the traditional philosophy of "structural homology between family and state",and "the unity of family and state",and cultivates patriotic spirit of people of various ethnic groups,ultimately,achieving a combination of ethnic integration and social integration,as well as a unity of ethnic identity and national identity.This is a transcendence of Western theories and policies pertaining to ethnic issues.
